Easy Reference Guide!
We built a site to cover the routines for our dogs, the feeding schedule for the fish, and how to keep the plants alive in the hot summer months.

You'll also find refreshers on the food situation, entertainment center usage, and whatever else might come up during your stay.

Thanks again for everything!

Entertainment 📺

Use a streaming service:
1. Turn on streaming box with small remote
2. Wait for system to power on
3. Set stereo to MEDIA BOX
4. Stream away

Listen to music:
1. Press BLUETOOTH on stereo remote
2. Ensure your phone is paired
3. Use your phone to control audio media and stereo master volume

Select a source:
1. Press SOURCE on TV remote
2. Use directional toggle to find select TV or new HDMI channel
3. You'll likely need to change the stereo source to TV, since that's where the audio will now be coming from

Stereo
Remote

You'll be using this to select audio sources and controlling volume.

You'll need to almost always select MEDIA BOX after the system turns on because the TV is the slowest to boot up, so it always sends the "I'm on" signal to the stereo after everything else has.

If you're play a game via the extra HDMI cable or watching OTA TV, you want the source on the stereo to be TV

Your phone should automatically pair when you select BLUETOOTH. You can stream music from your phone. *The phone will now control the master volume on the stereo.

Streamer
Remote

Power button should eventually turn everything on/off in series.

The single triangle is Back and the circle next to it will always take you back to the main screen.

The power button actually puts the streamer box in to standby mode, so if an app freezes or doesn't load, or if there's problems with the internet connection, you might need to restart the streaming box. Just press the hamburger button on the top right and select REBOOT to hard-reset the device.

TV
Remote

You'll likely only need this to select a new a/v input source or if the streaming box doesn't automatically turn the TV on or off.

I you want to watch OTA (over the air) TV or if you hook a gaming console into the spare HDMI (behind the right front speaker) you'll need to press the SOURCE button on the top middle and select a new source. The streaming box is HDMI 1, so if the console doesn't identify itself in the source menu, I expect it to be under HDMI 2.

*Remember the max volume is about 45. Any louder and it won't sound good anyways.

** HDMI is still clunky and nothing plays together quite the way it should; so if the TV turns off, expect the stereo to turn off as well (even if it's not the source). Same goes for turning off the media box or the stereo. They're all interconnected in ways that can sometimes be frustrating.

Pets 🐟🐕‍🦺

Feeding Dogs
Feeding times are around 7:30 a.m. and 8 p.m.

1. Let the dogs out first (otherwise Miko, the brown pitty, will think she doesn't have to go to the bathroom)
2. While they're outside, fill Midge, the white dog's bowl, with almost a full scoop of food and add hot tap water to the bowl until it barely covers all the food.
3. Place Midge's food next to the trash can and get another almost-full scoop ready for Miko.
4. When you open the door, Midge will automatically come in to eat, and Miko will patiently wait by her bowl.
5. Miko will ask to come in after she's eaten and gone to the bathroom.

Dog Meds

Feeding Fish

Plants 🌵

Lawn
• Water both opposing corners for at least 15 mintues

•You'll need to set the bounding clips to keep the water from overspraying too much into the house, street or driveway (though a little bit is totally fine and unavoidable). Just gently pinch the tabs togeter and they will freely rotate

• If it's dry and hot, lawn will need water every other evening. Otherwise you'll only need to water if it starts to look like it's drying out.

•It's not gonna die if it doesn't get watered enough. It just won't be happy with me when I get home.

Outdoor Plants

back yard, left side
• 3 of the small viney plants with the purple flowers
• 2 mint plants
• 2 fuzzy leafy plants

Front yard, rock garden
• 2 smaller yellow-flowered plants
• 2 smaller purple-flowered plants

*The fully grown versions of the these are established and drought-resistant, but the newly planted ones need 2 or 3 times a week to become hearty

Just water with hose for a few seconds until water breifly pools up on surface.
